After its formal constitution, the entity was declared in 2017 “of cultural interest” and later, in 2018, “of Galician interest” by the Xunta de Galicia.
The first President of the Valle-Inclán Foundation was Professor Dr. Mr. Benito Varela Jácome, illustrious valley-clerk and Emérito Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela. It is fair to acknowledge in this period the inestimable collaboration of Egrexio, writer and journalist Raimundo García Domínguez “Borobó”, who belonged to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees until his death in 2003.
The Director of the Galician Institute of Performing Arts and Music (IGAEM), Don Amado Ricón Virulegio, presided over the Foundation between 2000 and 2003.
Currently, the President of the Valle-Inclán Foundation and the Hon. Mr. Mr. Xerardo Fernández Albor , illustrious medical doctor of Compostela and former president of the Xunta de Galicia.
